Getting sideways. Have you ever wondered why wine bottles are stored on their sides? Aside from being stackable in this orientation, wine bottles are traditionally stored on their sides to keep the cork moist. Over time, a dry cork can potentially split and cause the wine to oxidize and spoil. If you purchase a case of wine from our tasting room, you will notice that the bottles have been placed upside down in the casethus achieving the same goal. |
