...that winemaking has been around for 7000 years?

Sometime during the neolithic period, in what today is northwestern Iran and northeastern Turkey, the art of winemaking was miraculrously discovered. The wine-bearing grape, vitis vinifera, was domesticated and gradually spread westward toward Greece. It wasn’t until the rise of the Roman Empire that viticulture spread throughout Europe along with Rome’s conquering forces.
